Position Overview

Minimum Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution
  • Study in Behavioral Health Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, Public Health or a related field
  • Internship registration for at least 3 academic credits, with strong preference for 6 or more credits

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe psychoeducational, process and therapeutic groups
  • Shadow therapists, social workers, case managers and other behavioral-health professionals
  • Attend treatment-team meetings when appropriate
  • Observe patient assessments and treatment planning when permitted
  • Learn about discharge planning and community resources
  • Prepare materials for therapeutic groups and patient activities
  • Assist with group setup, attendance tracking and educational materials
  • Support patient-engagement and patient-experience initiatives
  • Organize clinical resources and program materials
  • Assist with program-outcome data and quality-improvement projects
  • Follow confidentiality, HIPAA, compliance and professional-boundary requirements
