Citizens Property Insurance Corporation is recruiting a Manager – SIU (Field) to lead Special Investigations Unit work in South Florida. This is a senior insurance-fraud position combining people management, complex investigation strategy, data analysis and field response.
The manager oversees leaders and investigative staff who review suspected fraud involving property claims and other Citizens business areas. The role can also support catastrophe deployments, so the work may extend beyond a standard desk-based schedule.
What the SIU Manager Oversees
The manager directs investigative activity involving potentially fraudulent claims or organized schemes. The team can work across Claims, Underwriting, Agency Markets and Vendor Relations, which means cases may involve several types of records, parties and internal business units.
Citizens also uses specialized complex investigations for high-exposure or organized fraud. The manager helps set direction and makes sure cases are developed consistently.
Leading Investigators
The role includes hiring, goal setting, delegation, training, mentoring and performance management for SIU staff. The manager reviews referrals, assigns work and provides direction when an investigation needs additional steps or a different strategy.
This is not simply an individual investigator role with a management title. Applicants need to show that they have led people, made case decisions and maintained accountability for team results.
Fraud Analytics and Case Development
Citizens expects the manager to use data to identify patterns, trends and anomalies. Advanced spreadsheet skills are important, and the position can involve Excel, Power BI, data queries and collaboration with analytics teams.
The purpose of that analysis is practical: identify suspicious activity, strengthen investigations and help build cases that can be referred to law enforcement or prosecutors when appropriate.
Experience Required
The listing calls for seven or more years of combined Property/Casualty claims and SIU investigation experience. Leadership experience and strong knowledge of Florida property insurance, claims practices and fraud issues are also important.
A valid Florida driver license is required. Candidates should make their property-claims experience, SIU case work, fraud knowledge, analytics and staff leadership easy to verify.
Field and Catastrophe Work
The manager can be deployed during catastrophe operations and may oversee SIU field staff or strike teams. That can involve travel, work in remote locations or extended hours depending on the event.
Applicants should be comfortable with the operational side of insurance investigations as well as office-based case review and reporting.
