Application Deadline25 August 2026

The Transportation Security Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is accepting applications for a Property Management Specialist in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The permanent full-time position is in TSA’s Property Management Division within Facilities and Administration, Mission Support.

The salary range is $98,630 to $128,221 per year at the SV-H pay band. One vacancy is listed. The announcement opened August 12 and is scheduled to close August 25, 2026, but TSA states that it can close earlier after receiving 75 applications.

What the Position Does

This is an asset-accountability and policy position. The specialist works in the Policy, Compliance and Disposal Branch and helps make sure TSA property is properly tracked, protected, transferred and disposed of.

The work supports accountable property used at TSA headquarters and field locations. It requires someone who can interpret rules, review transactions and data, answer questions from programs and identify problems before they become compliance issues.

Key Duties

  • Maintain accountability for government property and support its care, protection and disposal.
  • Interpret property-management policy for TSA programs that purchase and deploy accountable assets.
  • Track and analyze data to determine whether property activity follows policy and procedure.
  • Provide guidance to professionals, managers and employees on recurring property-management issues.
  • Research current guidance before making technical recommendations.
  • Identify difficult or recurring problems and recommend administratively compliant solutions.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and explain TSA property requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to systems, processes and daily operations.

Experience Required

To qualify at the SV-H level, applicants need one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-G or GS-11 level in federal service, or comparable experience in the private sector.

The announcement specifically looks for experience providing guidance on personal-property transactions such as acquisition, disposal, transfer or loss, and experience using property-management systems to track data.

Federal Conditions

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals and at least 18 years old. The job requires a favorable background investigation and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Travel of 25% or less may be required. The position is not remote and is not telework eligible. TSA also requires Selective Service registration where applicable.

Application Requirements

TSA requires a resume and the documents listed in the USAJOBS announcement. The current notice limits resumes to two pages and requires enough detail to show dates of employment, hours worked and the actual duties performed.

Do not simply copy the specialized-experience wording from the vacancy. The resume should show real examples of property transactions, asset systems, compliance work and guidance you provided.

Who Is Eligible to Apply

This announcement is not a general public vacancy. TSA states that applicants may qualify as current or former federal status candidates, VEOA-eligible candidates, military spouses, or individuals with disabilities under applicable noncompetitive hiring authorities. Applicants should check the USAJOBS “This job is open to” section before spending time on the application.

The position is in TSA’s Excepted Service and is equivalent to the GS-12 level. The specialist is expected to work with limited guidance, research current policy and make technically sound recommendations when routine precedents do not fully resolve a property-management issue.

Resume and Assessment Details

TSA requires a resume limited to two pages. The resume needs narrative descriptions of duties, employment dates and the number of hours worked per week. Current or former federal employees also need to show the grade or band level of prior federal positions when applicable.

The application includes a self-assessment questionnaire and may require USA Hire assessments. TSA notes that copying the vacancy language into a resume without showing the applicant’s own experience will not adequately demonstrate qualifications.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted through USAJOBS. Because the announcement may close when the application limit is reached, qualified candidates should review the notice and submit the complete package before the stated deadline.

Applications Closed

The closing date for this opportunity was 25 August 2026.
