Merit Medical Systems is currently recruiting a Production Operator III in South Jordan, Utah. The position supports medical-device manufacturing and involves both assembly work and in-process quality inspection.
The current South Jordan opening uses a weekend schedule listed as 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM Friday through Sunday. Merit describes the work as medical assembly and processing, including technical assembly tasks that require accuracy, repeatability and close attention to product specifications.
Medical Device Assembly
The Production Operator III rotates through assembly-line operations instead of performing only one task for the entire shift. The employee may complete different stages of the manufacturing process as production needs change.
Because these are medical products, the operator must follow work orders and written procedures closely and make sure each assembly step remains within quality specifications.
In-Process Quality Inspection
The operator performs visual inspections while products are being assembled to confirm that work meets required specifications. Product that falls outside the standard must be identified and rejected rather than passed to the next stage.
This makes attention to detail one of the most important parts of the job. Operators need to notice defects or process problems while still maintaining production flow.
Machines and Changeovers
The role includes monitoring machines or equipment used in production to make sure they are functioning properly. The operator can also assist Team Leaders and Technicians with product or machine changeovers.
Some assignments include operation of testing equipment for periodic product or process checks. Candidates should be comfortable following technical instructions and working consistently around manufacturing equipment.
Experience Required
The current Production Operator III description requires three months of assembly experience. The employee must be able to rotate through all assembly-line tasks, including work that requires precise motor skills.
The position also requires the ability to follow instructions during repetitive tasks, visually check completed work and remain attentive throughout the production process.
Safety and Production Standards
Operators are expected to follow safety standards and established quality procedures. Production speed does not replace quality; the role requires both reasonable output and compliance with the medical-device manufacturing process.
Applicants with prior assembly, clean manufacturing, quality inspection or machine-operation experience should describe the exact products and processes they worked with.
Employee Benefits
Current Merit job information for South Jordan highlights medical and dental coverage and other insurance options, an onsite medical clinic, vacation and sick time, paid holidays, a 401(k) and Health Savings Account options.
Exact benefit eligibility should be confirmed in the current employer materials and employment offer.
