The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority is hiring a full-time Access Control Specialist for work connected to Orlando International Airport. The current posting period runs from August 11 through August 25, 2026.

This is an airport-security administration role, not a security-guard position. The specialist works with access credentials, TSA-related systems, Criminal History Records Check information, airport-company contracts, financial reconciliation, invoices, keys, badges and customer support.

Position Summary

The Access Control Specialist helps GOAA meet Transportation Security Administration regulatory standards. The employee supports reporting, reconciliation and invoicing and serves as a point of contact for systems such as the Transportation Security Clearinghouse and Fingerprint Results Distribution Center.

The job also helps make sure contracted employees receive the correct level of airport access and supports Access Control technicians when needed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial reports and invoices.
  • Reconcile airport identification media and keys at the end of construction contracts.
  • Transfer and reconcile TSA clearinghouse funds and complete wire transfers.
  • Prepare daily deposits and perform regular cash-handling duties.
  • Review contracts for companies operating at the airport and assign appropriate staff access.
  • Update Criminal History Records Check records and compare results with disqualifying-crime standards.
  • Prepare audits involving CBP seals, badges and keys.
  • Maintain security-violation information.
  • Help customers use training equipment, the Authorized Signatory portal and access-media systems.
  • Maintain Access Control and Lockshop supplies and assist technicians with issuing access media.

Education and Experience

Applicants need a high school diploma and four years of administrative experience that includes report generation and reconciliation, invoicing and cash handling, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

An associate degree in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred but is not listed as mandatory.

Skills Needed

The posting requires proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Word and typing at 40 correct words per minute. The employee must also be able to work with several specialized systems; Oracle experience is preferred.

Customer service is important because the role deals with Authority employees, contractors, airport tenants and guests. The job also calls for conflict resolution, clear communication, prioritization and the ability to work under deadlines and stressful conditions.

GOAA Hiring Requirements

GOAA’s official careers page states that applicants must complete an online application for each vacancy and that a resume without a completed application is not considered.

Selected GOAA employees may need to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check and airport security-badge process including fingerprinting. GOAA also uses E-Verify for employment authorization.

Financial and Reconciliation Work

A significant part of this position involves financial accuracy. The specialist prepares invoices, handles daily deposits, reconciles identification media and keys during contract closeouts and processes transfers connected to the TSA clearinghouse. The employee also completes monthly reconciliation and wire-transfer activity.

Candidates who have handled cash, invoices or reconciliations should describe the volume and type of work they performed. The four-year experience requirement specifically includes these administrative functions, so they should not be buried under unrelated duties on the application.

Airport Badge and Contract Access Work

The specialist reviews contracts for companies operating at the airport and assigns the appropriate access level for contracted personnel. When contracts are amended, access information may need to be updated in the system.

The job also involves Criminal History Records Check records and comparison with disqualifying-crime standards used for GOAA badge eligibility. This requires careful handling of sensitive information, attention to detail and consistent application of airport security rules.

How to Apply

Use the official GOAA Careers portal linked from Orlando International Airport’s careers page. Search for the Access Control Specialist vacancy and complete the employer’s application before the closing date.
